It's been a few crazy weeks.  Nicki went in to the Dr. because she was having a number of symptoms that couldn't be explained and they were not resolving by themselves.  They did some blood tests and hormone levels and they sent her in for a MRI.  The MRI showed that she had a macradenoma pituitary tumor. The Growth Hormone level indicated it was an acromegaly and needed to be removed.  Transsphenoidal surgery was set for April 28.  She had vision exams and bloodwork done followed by a Priesthood blessing.  There were hundreds of prayers offered in her behalf and in behalf of the surgeon.  The surgery was successful and she is now on the road to recovery.

We are grateful for the outcome.  The surgeon is one of the best and has done many many pituitary tumor surgeries but my eyes widened as he told us her surgery went routinely.  Ok for you to say, I thought and Perry said, "that is what we want to hear".  She will continue to have yearly MRI's as well as blood tests on a regular basis.  We are grateful for her.  She is a beautiful, talented and good person.  We were thrilled to have her sister, Aimee, fly in from Arkansas for the surgery...she was a great help to Nicki and we all loved having her around.

Nicki came home in time for her daughter, Lydia's 4th birthday!!!  Hurray!
