Church Service Mission Release

January 2010 to January 2012
It's hard to believe that 2 years have gone by while serving as Church Service Missionaries in the Kearns 2nd Branch (Spanish speaking).  We've had some very memorable experiences and have grown to love those people so much!

We were assigned as reactivation and retention CSM in the Hispanic initiative the first year and we were added to the Utah Salt Lake City Mission the second year. We had great directors and served with some wonderful  people...The Knudsens, The Browns, The Jolleys,The Hendriksens, The Maddox's as well as the inner city missionaries, The Canos' and The Jones' and the fulltime missionaries.  I won't forget the two branch missionaries, Carlos and Milt, who sometimes went out with us to teach and who has since gone to the Temple with family.

We taught new member lessons from the Preach My Gospel Handbook and the scriptures as well as sharing our testimonies of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Our prayers are for Maria and her boys, Nieves and her family, The DeLuCruz family, The Colungas, Lorena and her family, Eliana and her son, The Martinez family, Andres, Gilberto, and others who we taught that they will continue to grow in their faith and commitment.

We served with two Branch Presidents and grew to love them and their families...The Vasquez' and the Madrids.  We had the same Mission leader in the Branch the entire two years.  Phil is an exceptional Branch mission leader.  He is very devoted to the people he serves, his family and to the Gospel.
If you scroll through some of my posts labeled Utah Salt Lake City South Mission, you will get a glimpse of many of those Latinos with whom we will miss interacting on a weekly basis.
